Lee Hyde, CFP®
Founder | Financial Planner
Lee is a husband to Susanne and daddy to Charlotte (7) and Noah (3). Lee and Susanne celebrated 10 years of marriage this year. Lee and his family love to go on trail walks, go to the beach with more family, spend time in the north Georgia mountains, and watch movies. They especially enjoy Friday night pizza and a movie at home!
Lee and his family attend and serve at Woodstock City Church. Lee is in his 3rd year serving in the elementary age children’s ministry (UpStreet). Lee has always had a heart for serving in children’s ministry. He enjoys the opportunity to share the message of God’s love with the kids, but his favorite part is how honest they are and the awesome questions they ask.
Lee has been in the financial planning industry for 5 years. Before starting Shepherd Financial, Lee served clients with Northwestern Mutual. During that time, he learned a lot about the issues surrounding money people are facing. He also worked for and obtained his CFP® designation.
Prior to joining the financial services industry, Lee spent 8 years playing baseball professionally. He was blessed with the opportunity to be drafted by his hometown team, the Atlanta Braves in 2006. He also played with 3 other organizations; the Nationals, Yankees, and Reds. It was during this time that Lee began his interest in financial planning.
Lee has a Bachelor of Science in Business from Georgia Tech. While at Georgia Tech, Lee played for the baseball team for 3 years and had the opportunity to pitch in the College World Series. More importantly, this is where he met his beautiful wife, Susanne.
Kyle Ray
Lead Researcher | Associate Planner
Kyle Ray is originally from Fayetteville, GA. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Georgia (UGA). Currently, Kyle is pursuing his Master of Science in Financial Planning from UGA with an anticipated graduation date of June 2020.
Before joining Shepherd Financial, Kyle lived in Mexico, where he pursued a career as a professional poker player. In his poker career, he has made two final tables and one 3rd place finish at the World Series of Poker. Earning over a million in cash game winnings, Kyle has built a reputation as one of the best players in the world. Much like investing, mastering poker required strong discipline and a keen understanding of probabilities. Because of his success, Kyle has developed a passion for helping others achieve financial independence.
Kyle resides in Buckhead with his wife Genevieve and their Rhodesian Ridgeback, Doc. He enjoys spending much of his time with his family and friends, practicing Brazilian Jujitsu, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs.
